awesome bike. Can you believe it? We work on it all day keeping it
in tip-top shape. Looks and runs like new. Thanks.......Good one
guys.

Hello from Elsinore! Last year you asked me for a photo of my 1976 CR125M. Sorry it took so long. This is my original bike I purchased this bike in 1977 and still have it. It is unrestored and in excellent original condition. Since the photo was taken I have replaced the seat and side covers with NOS parts. It has a race engine with FMF pipe and head. Also attached is a photo of my 1975 MR50 Elsinore. The MR50 is a complete restoration with 0 hours on it. Thank you, Bob Cantarini - Elsinore, CA
From Joe
Abbate..New Jersey.......Cool
This bike isnt restored...it's all original! I found it in this condition in AZ and had it brought to me in CA. I plan to make it "showroom". Gotta find an original front # plate, levers and mounts. Overall, I can't believe it's really 27 years old and looks like this. Sandra
Here is a
picture of my 78 Elsinore I restored from 5 junkers. I have enough
parts to start a second bike. I will start it next year being that
this year I am getting the XR 65OR.

If Honda
made a CR thumper in 1979 it would probably look similar to this one
off
prototype Horsepower Factory (HPF) XR 185. It has bored and stroked
XR185 motor,
Fox Forks, Ohlins, Sun rims, C&J frame, CR wheels, CR tank, seat and
fenders.
Owned and raced by Tom France of Haverstraw, New York, USA.
Tom is also the
volunteer director of the American Classic Racing (ACR) for
Northeast US
vintage / evolution racing. See the website at

At last a KIWI Elsinore... from Phil Damen...Christchurch New Zealand.
This bike was rescued from a 'river racer' who had been killing it
for years going up and down the beach. I've replaced every bearing
and seal in the frame and engine. As I could find no expansion pipes
are made commercially for this model I ended up getting a hand made
one locally. The guy did a great job and with slightly heavier gauge
tubing it gives a nice sharp ping when running. Needless to say it
goes like a cut cat. I've made no modifications to the ports other
then clean them up.
I hope to first race it at the up and coming 'Old thumpers' classic
meeting in Takaka, New Zealand on 6 Feb.

Mike Boggia has sent in a shot of his very trick 1980 Mugen CR125......thanks Mike.
All the way from Bonnie Scotland - Here attached are before and after shots of my red rocket restoration. Since this I have restored another for my son and have raced this one in the scottish championship and came second unfortunately I redone a new engine for my sons bike with new piston, chrome bore, crank etc and seized both that engine and the other at the last round of the championship. Thanks Ian and Robin Mac Queen. ( Thanks Ian.....But what are you feeding the poor things?? :-) )

A Mugen 360
This bike is owned by Mike Downey of Melbourne Australia. It's built for racing and in its first serious outing scored impressive wins ridden by Noel Clarke in the Over 300cc Pre 80 class.
Mikes Mugen is based on a stock 1979 CR250R. The Mugen Additions are Head, Cylinder and Piston kit. The stock cases have been machined slightly to fit the bigger bore while the crank has been rebalanced to compensate for the heavier piston. The entire bottom end and gearbox has been refurbished by Rod Sharp here in Melbourne.
Other goodies to note are the 44mm Fox Forx, beadblasted and powder coated frame, repainted original tank in Mugen signage by Mike himself, repadded seat by Tony O'Connor of Eldorado in South Australia, Genuine DG FIM side panels, LOP Alloy banana Swingarm (supplied by me) Replica Mugen pipe by Geoff Morris Concepts of Eltham, Victoria,( Mike has the original tucked away safely), DG Muffler, White power remote reservoir shocks, Excel rims and Metzler tyres. A BDR engineering Fox Repro alloy kit adds the finishing touch.(smile)
